Today my english teacher told me a strange thing, I had to make a english blog, and this is the result! Our first task is to write about stereotypes.
A stereotype is how people normally are in specific areas. For me a stereotype from Britain is someone who likes tea, goes to the pub and drive around in a red buss. Someone outside Norway, can think that we all love skiing and the winter, but that is not right. Stereotyping can be useful when you visit a country beacuse you can know who to behave. Like, if I am in Britain know that I need to be polite. Stereotyping is not necessarily a good thing, we can judge people before we know them, because we think they are like the stereotypes.
If you look or act different then the stereotype, someone could tell you that you need to change. If you stand out too much, you may lose your friends...
People from Norway often makes jokes about other countries like, sweden. We say that swedish people are stupid. We think it is funny, but it is not true. So if you want to go to a country, but you have heard that the people there are not nice, you should not always believe it! You should find out things about others yourself, before you judge anyone!
